History

The company was founded by Ziya Gulcag (Mech.Eng.-Dipl.İng.), who has been in the business of trading of alloy steel, machinery and hardware since 1967.

Mr. Gulcag later expanded his business focusing mainly on stainless steel. In 1994, he founded Matmetal A.S. together with his sons, Murat Gulcag (Mech.Eng.-M.Sc.) and Orhan Gulcag (Civil Eng.-M.Sc.).
Matmetal A.S. quickly became a prominent company in Izmir, Turkey, in stainless steel market.
