The company was founded by Ziya Gulcag (Mech.Eng.-Dipl.İng.), who has been in the business of trading of alloy steel, machinery and hardware since 1967.

Mr. Gulcag later expanded his business focusing mainly on stainless steel. In 1994, he founded Matmetal A.S. together with his sons, Murat Gulcag (Mech.Eng.-M.Sc.) and Orhan Gulcag (Civil Eng.-M.Sc.). Matmetal A.S. quickly became a prominent company in Izmir, Turkey, in stainless steel market.

The Company has certified ISO 9001: 2000 by TÜV Thüringen with the number of 15 100 52848 .

Center for Stainless Steel Sheet Processing:

This service center is established in the Kemalpasa-Izmir Industrial Area with a 4000 m2 indoors and 7500 m2 outdoors area. Shearing, bending, punching, argon welding, CNC Laser and CNC plasma cutting services of stainless, mild_ and aluminium steel sheets are presented here.

- CNC LASER

The laser technology applied to metal cutting allows creating very high-quality details free from burrs and with perpendicular cut. In addition, thanks to the very thin laser beam, it is possible to obtain intricate profiles and very-small-diameter holes with very low tolerances.

Laser cutting is the most suitable technique for thin sheets and complex contours, which require precision and reduced heat impact. We can handle assignments up to a material thickness of between 20-25 mm and a maximum sheet width of 1,500 mm. These orders are executed on the basis of your own drawings or alternatively in collaboration with us. For the manufacture of complex contours with complex hole patterns, we offer a combination of laser cutting or plasma cutting and turret punching.

-CNC PLASMA

Machines belonging to the HD range have been designed for precision high-speed cutting uses and, basically, for High-Definition plasma generators.They are supplied in several models and with different options and offer a complete solution to cutting, marking and drilling of plates made with different materials and thickness. They are proposed as an efficient alternative to Laser cutting.

We can offer to cut 25,00 mm thickness of stainless steel plates

-CNC PUNCH PRESS

Turret punching is a good alternative to laser cutting when large quantities have to be produced quickly and efficiently. Turret punching is particularly suited to large tasks with complex hole patterns and many holes. Turret punching also ensures optimal utilisation of the material, which is synonymous with less waste.The punch press has 6 stations and 30 Ton capacity.

We have a number of fully automatic punching centres at our disposal. These punching centres are fitted with an integrated angle shear which makes it possible to integrate sheet cutting with the punching process. This minimises the process time and reduces total costs.

We can prepare customised solutions for complex hole patterns or contours, where we combine turret punching with laser cutting or plasma cutting as necessary.

-HYDRAULIC SHEARING

Our factories in Kemalpasha and I. Sanayi Sitesi offer shearing of sheets and plates. This process is well suited to cutting strips or trimming sheets and plates, but is also used for producing sheets and plates with cut-off corners or for sheet and plate formats which cannot be cut from coils rationally. Shearing is a process which is typically used before we begin working processes such as bending or other processing operations.

Large production runs are manufactured on our fully automatic shearing centre, on which different formats can be cut from a single sheet or plate in the same production process.

- PRESSBRAKES

The range of synchronised pressbrakes is proposed as a solution to high-quality bending requirements. Our pressbrakes are equipped with numerical control and automated production cells.

Matmetal A.S. manufactures both simple and complex sheet and plate components and profiles to the customer's specifications using bending. The combination of our know-how, extensive range of in-house machinery and the very latest technology enables us to find the right solution for you.

All assignments are managed according to the requirements for the component's accuracy, surface finish, material selection, dimensions and production quantity.

* Center for Stainless Steel Sheet Processing: This service center is established in the Kemalpasa-Izmir Industrial Area with a 4000 m2 indoors and 7500 m2 outdoors area. Shearing, bending, punching, argon welding, laser and plasma cutting services of stainless steel sheets are presented here. It is also planned to provide improved sheet processing capability through state-of-the-art machines in the near future.
